It's 11:38pm. I'm sitting here in the living room with Australian Rules Football on in the background. Talk about an exciting sport to watch!! I have to say I'm sorry to my NZ friends who are Rugby fanatics and hate the AFL. Andrew and I are really enjoying watching this stuff!!! We've talked about what it compares to and came up with this, it's a mix between American football, Soccer, and Rugby. Smash it all together, take away the pads, make it non-stop action, and you've got Aussie Rules Football. I still put it at 3rd behind NFL and Rugby but it's a close 3rd. ;) Sorry Wendy. Once you understand the chaos on the field it's great to watch. This game just ended 174-54. Carlton over The Gold Coast Suns.
SO, Friday was a great day of work and relaxation. After Andrew and I got home from work we took the boys out (Cotton and Rowdy) and then got ourselves ready to leave. Kineta was already in White Settlement so we just swung by Arlington to pick up Audra and left for Benbrook. The plans changed on our way to meeting at On The Border *off the map*. Kineta met us there. Dinner was great and the fellowship was better. It ended up being Andrew & Kineta, Audra & myself, Melissa & Samuel, and my mom & dad.
The first thing we all did when we got to Sam and Mel's house was converge on the twins new room. Samuel and Mel have done a LOT! The new paint is a greenish color that's probably soothing or something. :) The cribs are in each corner of the room with stuffed animals they made themselves. Very cool! Great Craigslist finds are on each wall; changing table and dresser that they painted and changed the hardware for. The piece de resistance however was the closet!!! Organized as only a mom-to-be-teacher could do. The clothes they have so far are separated on the rack in ages and sizes. They each have separate hampers for clothes and towels. There's a cubby system. I can't even remember all the other details! It was really impressive actually.
I believe if there is anyone ready for twins, and all that comes with that amazing blessing, it's Samuel and Mel!! They truly deserve everything they have and will continue to receive. They are giving each set of parents the first grand kids. They are making all of us uncles for the first time. They are getting 2 kids instead of 1 after losing so much over the last few years. Andrew and I get to be uncles to twins!!! Oh my gosh they're gonna be SOOO SPOILED!!! A good friend once told me that, "Out of all of the Holsworth guys, Samuel is gonna make the BEST father!" - Leeroy Chapa. I'm sorry Samuel for not ever considering it but I see it now. You two are incredibly blessed. All of us can't wait to share in the joys of seeing you both fulfill your dreams of becoming Godly parents! I know yall will do an amazing job. After all, you've had 4 amazing parents show you how it's done for the past 27ish years!!

Forever and a Day!
Wow, it's been forever since my last post! There have literally been at least 50 times that I've said, "Hey, I'd like to blog about that.", but just never have. It's sad because I really enjoy writing and this is fun. Even knowing that only Andrew and my mom read this. :) I really wish Blogger had an app for the iPhone! That would be much more convenient since I haven't plugged my desktop in for at least a year.
I'll jump right back into this by giving an extremely quick update on my last year and a half. Lets go for one whole paragraph!!
God has blessed the Holsworth family immensely!!! I started dating Audra Wheeler almost a year ago. Her and her family are incredible!! I'm working two jobs. While working in a warehouse for CWI I am taking tests that will allow the transition to Financial Adviser for Modern Woodmen of America. I went to the WORLD SERIES game 4 to watch my Rangers!! My little brother and sister-in-law (Samuel & Mel) are pregnant with TWINS!! Donnie and Michelle have gone on vacation 29 more times. Andrew and I are Co-facilitating the Men's Bible Study for the Point singles at our church. Inception became the best movie EVER!! Some famous people died. Obama is still ruining our country and working hard to make my new niece and nephew in debt before they're even born!! Andrew is dating Kineta Taylor!! Cotton has howled in his sleep 4 times. Hilarious!! AAaaannnd.....that is all I can think of right now.
I think that covered the highlights. :) It is 3:07 in the morning. IF you are reading this please pray for my niece and nephew to continue to grow and remain healthy. Also pray that I pass my next test on March 19th at 4:30pm. We can't forget about the people effected by the recent earthquakes and tsunami that have hit New Zealand and Japan. I pray that if they don't already know Jesus they come to know Him. Only He can help someone fully cope and recover from such tragedies. God Bless and good night/morning.

Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts

So this is my dilemma. The Colts have been my team since before Peyton Manning was leading Tenessee's marching band after a big win. All of my brothers, myself, and my mom were born in Louisville, Kentucky. The closest NFL team to Louisville is the Colts. (By the way, it's not pronounced lou-ee-ville or lewis-ville!! Everyone that's from Kentucky knows it's pronounced luh-vul.) Anyway, so my team has been Indianapolis for a long time.
The thing is I'm a Texan! I love Texas and I don't want to leave Texas. I love the Longhorns, the Mavericks, the Texas Rangers...I love Texas. I don't, however, like the Cowboys. I never have and never will. When the Oilers went to Tennessee the Cowboys were the only team we had here...which sucked. I didn't like the Houston Oilers. Didn't really like the players and what the heck is an oiler anyway!!??
In 2002 Houston got a team again. The Houston TEXANS!!! Not only are they called the Texans, they're also are Red White and Blue!! It's almost my patriotic duty to be a fan!! Texas now has 2 teams. Texans = greater than Cowboys!! My new favorite team was born!! They're the only NFL team that has yet to even reach the playoffs!! I'm not a fair-weather-fan. There hasn't been any fair weather for the Texans. I'm still upset about losing Carr but Schaub is proving to be a great quarterback! My Colts won the Superbowl a few years back and they are again undefeated almost half way through the season. They continue to be one of the top 3-5 teams in the NFL. Here I am finally making my point. The Colts play the Texans tomorrow and I am stuck in the middle of it!
Do I root for the Colts to remain undefeated and cruise to yet another playoff berth? Or do I pull for my heart, the Texans who are 5-3? They are peaking with Schaub, have a dominating defense with Mario Williams, and the best WR in the NFL, Andre Johnson! The Colts have the best QB that has ever played the game, a hall of famer WR in Wayne, one of the most sure handed TE in the game in Clark, and a defense that is anquored by Freney, Sanders, and Mathis. WHAT DO I DO!!!?? This is a nightmare. It's almost like if Notre Dame played Oklahoma!! I can't stand either team and I wish nothing but horrible seasons for both. I could only hope that they tie which I know good and well they can't!! AHHH!
You know what, the Colts will be fine. They'll make the playoffs again. Yeah they've lost Sanders for the season and Alexander is out for a couple weeks but that doesn't matter. I'm a full fledged Houston Texan!! GO TEXANS!!!! Playoffs baby!!
On a side note.....GO PHILADELPHIA!!!

Irving Bible Church
Andrew and I are visiting a church near our apartment. Irving Bible Church. I found it several months ago via Google search. After looking at at least 20 churches I found IBC. They had a few singles groups, each with a website. I looked around and navigated to the pictures, I'm sorry but I had to check out the people and what kind of activities they do. Don't worry, I read the mission statement too.
The pictures were from camping trips, bike rides, hiking, going to outdoor concerts, and things like that. Right off the bat Andrew and I were interested. This is a singles group, made up of actual singles (not several married couples, a few dating couples, an engaged couple, and 3 actual single women), they seem to be very outgoing, do athletic activities all the time, and they even do a once a month service project!! PERFECT RIGHT?!
Well, we can't just go by pictures. They hadn't updated the site in several months so we didn't know if they had a group anymore or they just got real busy. From the looks of it they had about 15 in the core group. Seemed like a good number to us. We're used to the 5 of us brothers and our cousins being the core of a group so 15 is great! It took us till the 3rd weekend being in Las Colinas to have time to even attend church. They do the evening service thing. Upon arrival to the church we noticed one thing very different then what we expected. Being a "Bible" church, I assumed it wouldn't be that big. WRONG! Looks like they had about 3 acres or more of church buildings including a coffee shop. It was huge!! We of course parked on the wrong side of the church and had to flag someone down to get directions to The Point. I just so happened to recognize someone standing in the hall way from the pictures we'd seen. She showed us where they met and gave us a basic tour. I'm sorry, I've met so many people there since then and I can't remember her name. :( The Point is one of the singles groups consisting of people in their 20's. Andrew and I will be 30 in December but why rush things and start going to the 30's group?!
We had a great time in our group talking politics since they were leaderless. Afterwards we all met at Boston's for some food and fellowship. They actually do this every Sunday!! Such an organized group. Again being from a....not so organized group that had all couples in the singles, Andrew and I were pleasantly surprised to see that at least 20 had gone to Boston's. There we met Audra, Kris, Jonathan, Rachael, Kristie, David, Andrew, Benson, and a couple others I know I've forgot, sorry. We had more fun then any other "singles" event in YEARS!! Sad huh?! But exciting for Andrew and I.
On Wednesday the following week there was a "Newcomers dinner" for the newbies to get to know the regulars. A chance to see if this was a fluke or maybe we had found our new church home. This was at Rachael's house next to the Gaylord. Andrew had never seen the Gaylord so it was an obvious landmark. About 20-25 showed up here. Some of the same people and some new faces we didn't see or meet a few days before.
Pizza, fresh-hot-brownies with ice cream, the pictophone game, 2 cool Rachael's (one who graduated from UT and the other how both equally hates Survivorman and loves Bear Grylls!!), great conversation with Austin and Kristie, the pictophone game, ?diet root beer floats?, and some awkward silences = A LOT OF FUN!!
One test left for The Point.....We gotta hear some preaching! See if these people are for real or just know how to have fun. Can't wait for Sunday evening. Andrew and I both are giddy! We haven't been a part of a Christian group that we enjoy hanging out with. That we anticipate the next event. That we look forward to getting to know more and being a major part of. It is truly a wonderful blessing in our lives right now. God is good! New apartment, new job (for me), new city, new church, new friends, GOOD TIMES!

Brian Regan Evening
My family and I went to the Brian Regan show last night at The Majestic Theater in Dallas. My throat still hurts and I know my abs will be sore Monday. Dude is seriously the most hilarious comedian I've ever heard. He had some new jokes about a motorcycle ride he went on that killed me!! I was coughing, crying, and rocking back and forth in my seat I was laughing SO hard!!!
It wasn't as funny as the show in OKC earlier this year but you can't go wrong with him. I'd recommend his comedy to anyone. That's the great thing about him, he's family friendly. I tell people about him and I get the, "Oh dude, have you heard Dane Cook!?", reaction all the time. Yes, I've heard the moron! Not funny, disgusting humor, vulgar language, and...not funny. I really don't understand the appeal, especially for Christians! He's a terrible actor too! There are families with kids that are 5 years old going to Brian Regan. He's hilarious without all the crap that less talented comedians have to do and say for a laugh. That was my 2 cents on Dane Cook.
I had never been to The Majestic Theater before last night. It's been around since 1921. Very cool place! It felt like I was stepping into a 1920's venue but in modern uptown Dallas. I love history so you'll have to deal with random historical rants every now and then. Get over it!
I am definitely gonna have to check out this sports bar we passed on our way out. It was a place called Draft Sports Bar & Lounge in The Sheraton Hotel. That place looks awesome! They have a 104 inch HDTV and recently went through a $3 million dollar face lift (I looked that up on my iPhone after passing it). Andrew and I are going there some time soon for a game.

The beginning....???
Well, I've decided to join the blog world, or is it the blogging world? I am TOTALLY lost right now! I really have no idea what I'm doing. It's 4:53am right now, I've been at it with this for almost 2 hours, and I still don't know if it's right. I guess I'll figure it out as I go.
I have no delusions as to how many people will read this or even be interested in doing so. I just happen to navigate through some friends blogs and thought it could be fun. I imagine I'll get some laughs(if it's read) as I fumble my way through this the first few weeks. That's fine by me. I just hope to eventually be proficient and at least entertaining. If that's only to my closest friends, that's cool with me.
